Managing Director
Rich Moss (083 326 2880):

Rich attended the Military Battle school where he was commissioned as an officer at the age of 17. He achieved the rank of Captain.

Rich worked at Imperial Motor Holdings for thirteen years during which he spent time in America at the University of Dealership Management, six Daimler plants in Germany and did various business courses in London.

Rich was appointed as Dealer Principle at 27 and Managing Director at 32. He joined Comcorp in 1998.

Rich co-founded Comcorp Online with his brother Paul. In setting up the company, the vision was to deliver electronic finance applications into home loans and drive out the old fashioned fax. He has a passion for digitizing industries which has led to mortgage origination now achieving 97% digitization across South Africa. He holds a Diploma in Management and an MBA from Henley University. Rich loves golf and all sports cars.

Paul Moss
(082 902 8058):

After completing his B.Com at Wits University and serving articles with Ernst & Young, Paul co-founded Comcorp in 1994. Paul has been an integral part of the business since then and is currently the Group Executive responsible for Finance and IT. Paul is married to Lynn and has a daughter Emma.

Brett Dovey (083 445 2556):

He has transformed the IT Function within Comcorp from a temporary position requiring 1 Consultant into a fully fledged Development and Production Team supporting Extended Enterprise applications with over 2,700 users.

Brett spent 3 years prior to Comcorp with Coopers and Lybrand (now Price Waterhouse Coopers) in their IT Consulting Division, working with clients such as Sasol on a number of diverse projects ranging from Network Design to Workflow Development.

He has a BA(Law) Degree from Wits University and a National Diploma in IT from Wits Technikon.

Karen Moss (083 648 0720):

Received a Bachelor of Science Degree and Higher Diploma in Education from Wits University, and completed her MBA in 2001.

Karen taught High School before selling real estate. She moved into the Pharmaceutical Industry where she was a Medical Representative for Schering. She serviced the Gauteng region and ran the largest most profitable territory for the company.

Karen joined Comcorp in June 1998 to launch and manage Comcorp’s Transfer Duty and Bridging Finance products. After completing her MBA, Karen headed up Comcorp Online’s Gauteng region, sales force, Call Center and managed training on a national basis.

Marcel Zeier
(082 450 9085):

Marcel is married to Jacomie and they have 2 children, Dieter and Anja.

Marcel has a BCom and a MBA (Hons) which he completed 1998 part time at the University of Stellenbosch Business School.

Marcel has been with Comcorp for 13 years and opened the Cape Town Office in January 1996.

As CEO, Marcel currently has national opreational responsibility for our Mortgage Software business. Marcel's business supplies software to 526 companies.

Warren Taylor (083 452 3185):

Married to Laura and has a daughter called Kimberley.

Warren has Marketing Diploma through the Institute of Bankers. Warren worked his way through the ranks at FNB KZN by starting off as a teller, then managed 4 sub branches for the bank, moved onto Forex for 2 years and was then was promoted to the sales force.

Later he moved over to WesBank into the Cash Power department and learnt about credit and personal loans.

He entered into an entrepreneurial venture in 1998 and started up a Computer Hardware retail business. In October 1999 he moved over to Comcorp to service the KZN Advance Commission market and in June 2002 was promoted to Regional Manager for Comcorp Online in KZN

Marlene Bezuidenhout (082 928 0111):

Marlene has a BSc degree in Home Economics with a Higher Diploma in Education.

She started her career in 1995, teaching Home Economics, Biology and Science at High School level.

Marlene joined Comcorp Online in April 2002 as a Business Engineer, servicing Mortgage Origination companies in Pretoria and surrounds.

In 2006, she was promoted to Regional Manager – Gauteng.. Her responsibilities include managing five Business Engineers in Gauteng, who in turn looks after 400 Mortgage Origination Companies in Gauteng and surrounds.

Neville Nightingale:
Neville started life studying to be an actuary but the call of business distracted him and he managed and owned his own businesses until he joined Wesbank in 1973.

He has spent most of his working life at Wesbank, eventually becoming Managing Director. Later he moved on to become Chief Operations Officer of FNB and formed part of the Exco that handled the merger with RMB to form the FirstRand Group.

Neville retired early but still sits on the boards of some of the FirstRand Subsidiaries.

He is married to Marita and they have 5 children and a growing tribe of grandchildren.

Neville is involved in his community and enjoys the bush, reading and golf.

Mutle Mogase - B Comm.:
Mutle is currently the Chairman of Vantage Capital. Mutle commenced his working career as a financial accountant at LTA Construction Ltd. Thereafter, he moved to Nedbank where he was a relationship manager in their corporate banking division and was responsible for a portfolio of R1,5billion. While at Nedbank he was appointed to the leadership team and was seconded to Chase Manhattan for a period where he gained experience in corporate finance, broking , dealing and middle market operations.

Thereafter, Mutle moved to ABSA Bank where he was responsible for the implementation of ABSA’s microlending strategy with the creation of Nubank. He started Nubank from scratch and was CEO for 3 years. In addition, he was appointed to the group strategy and operational risk committees at ABSA. Nubank was recently valued at R500 million in a transaction with Unifer. During this time, Mutle was also involved in the establishment of Real Africa Investments Limited (RAIL), one of the most pre-eminent listed black empowerment companies in South Africa. RAIL is an investment holding company with significant interests in listed companies in the life insurance, investment banking, food and medical sectors. Mutle was one of the five founding members of RAIL and was a non-executive director of RAIL.

In 1999, sold his interest in RAIL and started an investment company with a fellow founder of RAIL. Mutle acquired a significant interest in Africa Construction (Pty) Ltd and shortly thereafter started MMR Equity Capital together with Colin Rezek.

Mutle holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Cape Town, has completed an Executive Development Programme at the City University of New York and a Graduate Diploma in Corporate Governance at the Graduate Institute of Management Technology in Johannesburg.

 

Chris Lister James - B.Comm. , CA (SA), H.Dip Tax.:
Chris brings a wealth of experience in financial management and in investment banking , particularly in structured finance and private equity fund management. His most recent experience was at Real Africa Durolink Investment Bank Limited (RAD) where he established and managed a technology venture capital fund. Over this period Chris invested in 11 companies and had exited 4 prior to Chris leaving to start Vantage Capital. Prior to this Chris had worked at RAD in the area of structured finance and implemented various financing structures to the value of approximately R150 million.

Chris started his investment banking career at Durolink Projects(which subsequently became RAD) in 1990 where he spent three years in structured and project finance. Thereafter, Chris decided to pursue a career in the commercial sector and moved to McCarthy Retail Limited where he was group financial manager and was responsible for group financial strategy, tax, treasury, etc. Chris was then promoted to Financial Director of McCarthy Motor Holdings Ltd which is the largest motor retailer in the Southern Hemisphere with a turnover of R8 billion. In addition, Chris served articles with Price Waterhouse for three years and worked at the Receiver of Revenues office for four years as an alternative to doing military training.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Commerce, a Diploma in Accountancy and Higher Diploma in Taxation from the University of Natal. He passed his Chartered Accountants Board Exam in 1983 and completed a Management Advancement programme at the Wits Buisness School in 1992. Chris played first class cricket for Natal for 4 years and represented the South African President’s XI versus Australia in 1986.

 
 

Peter Backwell:
Pete qualified as a Chartered Accountant at Deloitte and was a partner in the Tax Division, specialising in corporate income tax.

Having joined the Nedcor Group in 1991, working initially in Management Services Division in the Tax Department. Pete moved to the banking side of the business in 1994. Previously head of Nedbank’s Corporate Banking Division, Pete was then appointed Managing Director of the Retail and Wealth Management business, responsible for the Nedbank, Old Mutual Bank, Pick ‘n Pay Go Banking, the Wealth Management businesses and the insurance/assurance-related businesses.

Pete joined Halls in September 2004 to take up the role of Executive Chairman. In August 2006 Pete stepped down as Executive Chairman, allowing him to focus his attention on developing the company’s recent investments in the financial services and pharmaceutical industries.
